  1. Supposedly the two have parted ways. W/ no Mickey D involvement what-so-ever. But, for yrs, that relationship worked…& afforded Ells w/ the $ to open more than 1000 “Mexican” grills. Seems somewhere along the way, differences became apparent: i.e., interests in sustainability (now a biggy for Chipotle & never really one for McD); & workforce concerns (in which Chipotle needs to get a better handle & the big d is scrupulous). In today’s clim, Chipotle’s move is a savvy one. The food, to me, is a cut above average restaurant chain viddles; however, the only authentic element is the house sauce.
